In addition to my strength coaching background, I’ve coached ultimate at all levels, age groups, and in every division of the game. I understand the specific demands of the sport, the skills needed for different positions on offense and defense, and how they integrate with the physical movement patterns needed to execute those skills and resist injury.
My programming mentality is focused on understanding that all stress is stress and impacts training adaptation. We take into account the other aspects of your life and activities, whether it’s practice and pickup or stress from work, and cultivate a a connection with your own body’s response to those stressors.
The workouts I design tend to slow down and practice fundamental movement patterns from the game, with an emphasis on mobility, stability, and solid muscle activation. We then speed these patterns up, load them with weights, or put them in more game-realistic situations.
